One person arrested after fatal shooting at illegal gambling club in Bridgeport: police – NBC Connecticut

Bridgeport police said they arrested a suspect after two men were shot and killed while robbing an illegal gambling club in March.

On March 30, around 11 p.m., officers arrived at the club on Stratford Avenue to investigate reports that several people had been shot.

They found Richard Davis, 30, and Tayvon Geter, 32, both of Bridgeport, outside with gunshot wounds.

Police said they died at Bridgeport Hospital.

Two other people who were shot in the club were also taken to hospital. Police said their injuries were not life-threatening.

Evidence found during the investigation suggested the shooting occurred during a shootout inside the club, police said.

The arrested suspect, a 38-year-old man from Bridgeport, turned himself in to police on Tuesday.

He is charged with criminal possession of a weapon, tampering with evidence and theft of a weapon. His bail was set at $75,000.

Police expect there will be several more arrests.
