1 dead in crash on I-75/I-85 northbound in Atlanta – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA – Atlanta police are investigating a fatal crash in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75/Interstate 85 near 17th Street.

A caller reported the accident to 911 shortly before 1 a.m.

The police have not yet provided any further information about the cause of the accident.

The Atlanta Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the scene and will release additional details later this morning.

A Channel 2 Action News A photographer captured the scene. You can see several police cars, an ambulance and a car loaded onto the back of a tow truck.

At 3 a.m., some lanes were still closed, but police said they were close to reopening them.
