One person was killed and two others seriously injured in a head-on collision in Fresno County

One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a head-on collision in Fresno County on Sunday morning.

FRESNO COUNTY, California – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Fresno County.

One person is dead and two others seriously injured in a head-on collision on Sunday morning.

Officials said it happened around 2:15 p.m. at Avenal Cutoff Road and Enterprise Avenue, just outside of Leomoore.

According to the CHP, a 23-year-old man was driving a Chevy Malibu north on Avenal Cutoff Road when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 51-year-old man driving a Ford F-150.

The driver of the Malibu died at the scene of the accident.

The 20-year-old passenger of the Malibu and the driver of the Ford suffered serious injuries and were flown by helicopter to local hospitals.

It is not known whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
