Cambridge police are searching for a person who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in a public restroom – Boston 25 News

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Cambridge police are searching for a suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in a public restroom last week.

The incident occurred in the area of ​​Cambridgepark Drive at around 9.18pm on Friday.

“It’s definitely scary, it’s really sad and I hope they catch the person who did it,” said Kyle Dutch of Cambridge.

Dutch saw the large police presence as he walked home on Friday evening.

“I honestly think I saw five or six cars, I also saw an ambulance,” Dutch said.

According to police, the victim told officers the suspect attacked her while wearing a mask and holding a knife. Investigators are processing a crime scene in the restroom of a commercial building where the alleged assault occurred, police said.

“My girlfriend walks and runs around here and we ride bikes together. So it’s scary when she’s alone. I want this person caught as quickly as possible,” Dutch said.

Cambridge police said they will deploy additional patrols to the area as they continue to search for the suspect.

Massachusetts State Police are assisting in the investigation. The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office has been notified of the incident.
