1 dead after shooting near Dayton apartment complex

One person is dead following a shooting in Dayton Monday evening, according to Dayton Police Sergeant Shawn Olinger.

After 10 p.m., Dayton police and paramedics were dispatched to the 1700 block of W. Stewart Street for reports of a male accident, a Montgomery County dispatcher confirmed.

Olinger confirmed to News Center 7 that emergency crews responded to a shooting.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office also confirmed they were called to the scene.

Dayton police investigators were on scene when the shooting occurred, Olinger said.
