“Missing Persons Unit” renewed for season 3 on Fox

“Alert: Missing Persons Unit” has been renewed for a third season at Fox.

The series is a production drama set in the Philadelphia Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit. Each episode features the search for a missing person led by Detectives Jason Grant (Scott Caan) and Nikki Batista (Dania Ramirez), a former couple whose marriage ended after their son’s disappearance.

In addition to Caan and Ramirez, the cast includes Ryan Broussard as Mike Sherman, Adeola Role as Kemi Adebayo, Petey Gibson as C, Gil Bellows as Hollis Braun and Alisha-Marie Ahamed as Wayne Pascal.

Season 2 of “Alert: Missing Persons Unit” is averaging 3.9 multiplatform viewers according to the most recent data, combining Nielsen’s linear viewership measurement and Fox’s own streaming numbers. That represents a 233% increase over the Nielsen-recorded performance of the Live + Same Day show, suggesting that most of the show’s viewership is occurring on a delay. This is in line with the series’ performance in Season 1; In January 2023, the series premiere became Fox’s most streamed drama premiere since “9-1-1: Lone Star” in 2020 variety reported exclusively at the time.

Season 2, whose finale will air on May 14, is still in production. Production on the third season will begin immediately afterwards.

“Alert: Missing Persons Unit” is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and FOX Entertainment. Carla Kettner serves as showrunner and executive producer. Jon Cowan, Brandon Sonnier, Brandon Margolis, Sean Hennen, John Eisendrath, Jamie Foxx, Datari Turner and Brad Turner also executive produce.
