Ten-year-old boy arrested for sexual assault on Italian tourist

Police in the Australian state of Queensland have arrested a 10-year-old boy on allegations of sexually assaulting a 23-year-old Italian tourist in Cairns.

The woman was walking in the Cairns CBD around 10am on Wednesday when the boy sexually assaulted her. The guard reported.

She quickly called police for help but was attacked by three other teenagers who police are now looking for. Daily Mail reported.

She reportedly suffered minor bruises and scratches on her face following the attack.

The boy was charged with sexual assault, common assault and assault in society, police added.

A popular tourist destination, Cairns is home to the Great Barrier Reef and the World Heritage-listed Wet Tropics rainforest.
