Liberal group calls for investigation of Trump’s ex-doctor Ronny Jackson

A liberal activist group is calling on authorities in New Jersey, Michigan, Wisconsin and Virginia to investigate and impose penalties against former White House physician and current Congressman Ronny Jackson (R-TX) for allegedly practicing medicine without a license in all four states.

In a letter to the New Jersey Attorney General, the Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, the Director of the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulation, and the Director of the Virginia Department of Health Professions, the American Muckrakers PAC called for “an immediate investigation into Jackson’s illegal medical practice, the serving of a cease-and-desist order on Jackson, and the prosecution of Jackson to the fullest extent of the laws applicable in your state.”

Jackson is said to have offered his medical expertise to former President Donald Trump after he suffered an ear injury in an assassination attempt.

“I have been with President Trump since that time and have been assessing and treating his wound daily,” Jackson wrote in a memo released Saturday. “He is doing well.”

The former White House physician allowed his Virginia license to expire in 2020. In Florida, he is only authorized to provide medical care at military facilities.

However, Jackson holds a certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine valid until 2025, which strictly limits his scope of practice to emergency medical services.

Jackson has gotten into trouble before. He earned the nickname “Candyman” after he was accused of overprescribing drugs while serving as White House physician. He once ordered 34 boxes of fentanyl, 40 boxes of morphine and 34 boxes of ketamine in a nine-month period.
