Mohali: Sports coach accused of sexual harassment

Dhakoli police on Saturday booked a sports coach from Haryana for sexually harassing a student at a hotel in Dhakoli.

The accused had visited Panchkula with his team for a tournament.

He took the victim to a hotel in Dhakoli where he tried to persuade her to have physical intercourse with him, but she escaped.

She was later threatened by the defendant, whereupon she informed the police.

The Dhakoli police imposed a fine on the coach after failing to register a complaint for violation of the FIR under sections 75(2), 123 and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
