Suspect arrested after fatal incident at Central Florida Bar and Grille

A 26-year-old suspect was arrested following a fatal incident at a local bar and grill in Central Florida.

On July 2, at approximately 1:29 a.m., Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office officers responded to a disturbance at the Tally Ho Bar, Lounge & Grille, 7402 N. 56th St. in Tampa.

When officers arrived, they learned that a physical altercation had occurred between patrons and security staff in the bar. Another security guard intervened, but was subsequently struck in the head by one of the patrons involved.

The victim, 50-year-old Kenneth Washington, a member of security, subsequently suffered a medical emergency when the guest hit him on the head and he collapsed.

When officers arrived, they immediately began medical treatment until the Hillsborough County Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

At the scene, officers arrested 26-year-old Joshua Valdibieso for assault because an autopsy had not yet been performed.

The Homicide Squad continued its investigation and on 12 July an arrest warrant for manslaughter was issued against Valdibieso.

On July 14, HCSO, with assistance from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, located Valdibieso in Pasco County and took him into custody without incident.

“It is tragic that a man lost his life due to senseless violence while doing his job,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “I commend our officers for their commitment to justice. Their diligent work on this case resulted in the successful arrest of this violent man, who will now be held accountable for his actions.”

According to local law enforcement, this is an active investigation.
