Bar employee shot in the leg in Norwich on Sunday

NORWICH – City police said a bar employee suffered non-life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound to the leg around midnight Sunday.

Detective Division Sgt. Scott Meikle said the incident occurred at the Latin Quarters at 80 Broadway. However, online records show that the Latin Quarters has been closed and replaced by a nightclub called Pie Hops.

Meikle said the man was shot in the leg and found by emergency responders at the front door of the bar. He said the victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is being treated for his injury.

Meikle said the department is currently investigating the shooting and more information on the shooting is awaited. Meikle did not say whether a suspect has been identified at this time.

Police are asking anyone with personal information to contact Norwich Police and speak to Detective Harsley at 860-886-5561, extension 3138.
