12 people arrested in Albany crime-fighting operation

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) — Sheriff Craig Apple reports that the Albany County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 12 people as part of a criminal investigation in the city of Albany. Sheriff’s officials conducted dozens of traffic stops and investigations in the city to track down drug and gun activity.

On Thursday, during a drug investigation, officers found a quantity of crack cocaine at the home of Trequan Clow, 32, according to officials. During the investigation, officers also witnessed a drug sale involving 23-year-old Demauri Marshall, who also possessed crack cocaine, according to officials.


Officials say that while assisting New York State Probation, Qualon Cooks, 32, a parolee fugitive, made contact with him. He allegedly fled in search of food, and after a brief foot chase, a quantity of crack cocaine and oxycodone pills were found on him. He was taken into custody.

All three were taken to the Albany County Correctional Facility and are awaiting trial. They will appear in Albany City Criminal Court on Friday. Five others were arrested and charged with seventh-degree unlawful possession of a controlled substance. They were released on summons.

Four people were arrested on the basis of valid arrest warrants and handed over to the relevant authorities throughout the capital region for various criminal offenses.
