Police search for suspected shooter – NBC Boston

Boston police are searching for a person in connection with a shooting that left five people, including a teenager, injured in the Dorchester neighborhood on Wednesday evening.

The shooting occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on Greenwood Street.

All five victims suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

A preliminary investigation found that there was a gathering that was interrupted when at least one person fired shots into the house, police said.

When officers arrived, they found several cartridge cases.

Mayor Michelle Wu said something had to change after several violent incidents in the last week alone.

“On a summer night like this, we want to make sure that every single street and every community, every part of our city is an experience. But unfortunately tonight we saw something different and we have a lot of work ahead of us,” Wu said.

Although no arrests have been made yet, police say they will provide updated information later Thursday morning.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Boston police at 617-343-4700. Anonymous tips can also be made at 1-800-494-TIPS.
