Food and water distribution in Houston, Texas after Beryl

420 cases of water and 22 pallets of food from the Houston Food Bank will be distributed

HOUSTON — Hurricane Beryl left many people in the Houston area without food, water and power.

According to Councilwoman Tiffany D. Thomas’ office, District F will hold a food and water distribution on Wednesday, starting at 10 a.m. and while supplies last.

They will distribute 420 cases of water and 22 pallets of food from the Houston Food Bank.

The water and food distribution event will ensure that affected families and individuals receive essential bottled water to meet their immediate needs after Beryl.

A heat advisory has been in effect since Tuesday and will continue through Wednesday with temperatures expected to reach 106.

“We are prepared for this moment, we are not panicked. I have been working with these organizations since 2021 to ensure that we can respond with a coordinated plan after any federally declared disaster – in multiple languages ​​– whether it is food, water or social services,” Thomas said in a statement. “We have a master plan, and it is working.”

According to the release, Councilmember Thomas, Alief ISD, West Houston Assistance Ministries, Houston Food Bank, Houston ToolBank, Heads Up Houston, Bethel’s Heavenly Hands and Church Without Walls on Eldridge will oversee the distribution process to ensure resources are delivered efficiently and equitably.
