Man from Fritch dead after serious bodily harm

CLAY COUNTY, Texas (KFDA) – A Fritch man is dead after a domestic violence situation turned fatal.

According to KAUZ, Clay County dispatch received a 911 call from a woman around 2:30 a.m. on July 7. The woman told dispatch that her husband had a gun.

Officers were able to locate the caller. Officers from Wichita County and Clay County responded.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found an unidentified 39-year-old woman with two gunshot wounds. She was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Officers also found 46-year-old Armando Nava of Fritch with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to the investigation, the couple got into an argument in the car that turned violent.

The woman was physically attacked by Nava before he shot her twice.

After shooting his wife, Nava walked to the back of the car and shot himself. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
