Smoke from Mexico will be pushed south on Friday

HOUSTON (KIAH) – You may have noticed the hazy appearance of the sky lately. This is smoke coming from Mexico and Central America, which makes Houston and much of Texas look somewhat unhealthy.

The smoke, shown in green in these images, will be pushed south Friday as a weak cold front moves through Texas.

Meanwhile, the TCEQ says Thursday’s air quality will be “unhealthy for sensitive groups.” Air quality is expected to improve to the “moderate” category on Friday and Saturday.
