ABC-7 First Alert: Gusty, dusty, rainy Tuesday

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – We remain under the ABC-7 First Warning as gusty, dusty winds and an increased chance of rain are expected this evening.

At the beginning of today the weather will be mostly calm. In the late afternoon and early evening it will become more turbulent again.

Today we have a number of weather influences, the first of which is an increased chance of rain. We expect a 30-40% chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms. The chance of rain is highest between 4 and 9 p.m.

Due to the chance of rain, we can expect gusty and dusty winds. Gusty winds will be strongest between 2 and 7 p.m., possibly reaching 40 to 50 mph. During this period, dusty conditions are likely to be very strong between 3 and 8 p.m.

Across the region, we expect temperatures between 93 and 98 degrees. In El Paso, temperatures are expected to reach 97 degrees. In Las Cruces, temperatures are expected to reach 94 degrees.
