Sister mourns Shane Miller, killed in Florence mass shooting

At 20, Shane Miller was an old soul, but still young and adventurous at heart.

He was friendly but quiet. Relaxed and caring. Those were his trademarks, according to his sister Paris Miller.

“I want everyone to know how loving and caring he was and how much he loved everyone close to him,” Paris Miller said.

This is how Shane Miller’s family wants to be remembered because he took his life far too early, they say.

Shane Miller was one of four people killed in a mass shooting in Florence early Saturday. He was attending a close friend’s 21st birthday party at a home on Ridgecrest Drive, a quiet neighborhood. Florence police said it was the first mass shooting ever in the northern Kentucky city of 32,000.
