A man is dead after a shooting in Stockton Friday afternoon, police said. Emergency crews responded to Fairburn Way near Northstar Drive around 5:30 p.m. for a report of a person shot. Officers said when they arrived, officers found a 31-year-old man who had been shot. He was taken to an area hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, police said. STOCKTON, California —

A man died in a shooting in Stockton on Friday afternoon, police said.

Emergency crews responded to a report of a person shot around 5:30 p.m. and headed to Fairburn Way near Northstar Drive.

Officials said when they arrived, they found a 31-year-old man who had been shot.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Authorities have not released any information about the suspect and said no motive is known.
