What the various dangerous heat warning codes mean for the 2024 AJC Peachtree Road Race

ATLANTA – With dangerous heat approaching, runners in the 2024 AJC Peachtree Road Race should be aware of the event’s warning system.

The color code system depends on the circumstances of the course.

The warnings mean the following:

Code Green means that the alert level is low and conditions are good.
Code Yellow A moderate alert level is in effect and conditions are beginning to deteriorate.
Red alert The alert level is high and conditions could become dangerous.
Code Black means that the conditions are extreme and the race would be cancelled.
