Emergency crews respond to a motorcycle accident with injuries at the Five Points intersection on Monday evening

A male motorcyclist was taken to Grand View Hospital with immediate life-threatening injuries and cardiac arrest Monday evening following a two-vehicle crash at the Five Points intersection in Montgomery Township.

In addition, the driver of a red Toyota Prius was freed from her car by firefighters and taken to a nearby hospital by medical personnel.

According to the emergency call center, the motorcyclist suffered a stage 1 cardiac arrest (trauma 1).

The accident occurred at 5:56 p.m. at the intersection of Horsham Road and Bethlehem Pike. A Harley-Davidson motorcycle was severely damaged in the accident, and the Prius also suffered severe front-end damage.

Montgomery Township Police have closed Route 309 at Five Points and diverted traffic via Cowpath Road at Lizell Office Furniture.
