Braves News: Offensive struggles return for Atlanta, new rules for home run derby, more

While Saturday’s win was a good one for the Braves thanks to Adam Duvall’s walk-off goal, the offensive struggles continued Sunday. Despite an early 1-0 lead, the Braves ultimately lost 4-2 on a pair of Pirates two-run homers off Spencer Schwellenbach in the fifth inning. The Braves couldn’t find the hits they needed to come back, and that led to another missed opportunity to sweep the series Sunday.

Fortunately, they were able to win the series after some midweek struggles. However, while any series win is positive for the Braves right now, Sunday was an unfortunate reminder that our offensive struggles continue to make it difficult to truly ramp up to win at the level we’ve been at in recent summers.
