Woman attacked with baseball bat in broad daylight in Manhattan

NEW YORK, NY — A violent attack occurred outside 37 Monroe Street on Tuesday, where a 58-year-old woman was attacked with a baseball bat by two unknown assailants. The incident occurred around 2:08 p.m.

The victim was reportedly walking down Monroe Street when the attackers approached her and struck her multiple times, focusing on her legs and head. After the attack, the suspects fled eastbound on Madison Street.

Emergency services responded immediately and the woman was taken to New York Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital. She is currently in stable condition, but is suffering from injuries to her leg and swelling to her head.

The motive for the attack remains unclear and no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing as authorities attempt to identify and arrest those responsible.
