Police in Ohio are investigating the death of a 6-month-old baby who was found unconscious at home

GUERNSEY COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) – The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a six-month-old infant who was found unconscious and not breathing in a Senecaville home on June 27.

According to authorities, paramedics, sheriff’s deputies, detectives and an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper rushed to the home after the 911 call came in. Rescue workers immediately began life-saving measures for the toddler.


According to officials, the child was taken to Ohio Health Southeastern Medical Center by United Ambulance but was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Guernsey County Coroner requested an autopsy at the Licking County Coroner’s Office. Ohio law requires an autopsy in any death of an otherwise healthy child under the age of two.

It is reported that detectives from the Sheriff’s Office’s Investigation Division obtained a search warrant for the house and secured evidence there.

According to officials, the case is not yet closed and further investigations are pending.
