Parents of Austrian primary school students who were subjected to radical “sexual education” demand justice

To make matters worse, the Upper Austrian Education Directorate did not respond to the parents’ complaints after learning of the situation. The parents base their arguments on the fact that not only was the teacher not informing them about the nature of her “courses”, but also on a lack of transparency on the part of the directorate. The directorate has dropped the disciplinary proceedings against the teacher, a significant development that the parents only learned about from media reports.

Comprehensive sexuality education: A global agenda

Felix Böllmann, Director of European Advocacy at ADF International, explains: ““What happened to these Austrian children illustrates the disastrous impact of an agenda aimed at indoctrinating children who are beyond the control of their parents.”

The radical indoctrination of children through “sex education” curricula is a global problem. The World Health Organization (WHO), UNESCO and other actors within the United Nations system have devoted enormous resources to the international promotion of so-called “comprehensive sexuality education” (CSE) of children without parental consent. CSE guidelines are replete with examples of extremely sexually explicit “information” being taught to children from a very young age under the guise of “empowerment.”

Böllmann continued: “Austria guarantees parental rights because it recognizes that parents are best placed to protect their children. This right is also enshrined in international law.

Parents should not have to fear the worst when sending their children to school. No parent should have to worry that their child will be exposed to extremely problematic images and “information” by their teacher.

That is why we are fighting against the secret import of this radical and explicit content – into this school, for the benefit of these students and their parents. But also for the benefit of other children and parents who may not yet know what materials are being used in schools across Europe.”

The ideology behind “comprehensive sexuality education” assumes that children should be sexualized from the first moments of their lives. For example, in 2010, Uwe Sielert, a proponent of extreme sexuality education, worked with the WHO Regional Office for Europe to develop the “Standards for Sexuality Education in Europe”. These standards promote a misguided vision of sexuality education for children that is far removed from basic sexual health information and is in direct contradiction to the guaranteed rights of parents to educate and raise their children in accordance with their own worldview and without harm. They lay the foundation for cases like that of these Austrian children who were exposed to such content by their teachers.

Parents have a great responsibility to protect their children from harm, but they cannot do that if they do not know what is happening behind the classroom doors. And children have the right to be protected from harm. Exposing children to radical ‘sex education’ therefore violates the rights of both children and their parents.” says Böllmann.

Comprehensive sexuality education: A global agenda

In this case, the issue is that young students are forced to attend classes with explicit sexual content without their parents’ knowledge or consent in the name of “diversity” education. This was ultimately made possible by Europe-wide standards on “comprehensive sex education”.

The students’ statements describe in detail the disturbing content they were exposed to. Among other things, their teacher made them watch an explicit film and repeatedly described sexual practices in detail in words and pictures, even when the children objected. After the lesson, the children reported that they were “disturbed” and obviously could not process what they had been shown and why.

Our daughter was completely disturbed when she came home from class. The content was in no way age-appropriate sex education, but rather deeply ideological content aimed at sexualizing our children.“, says the mother of one of the students.

ADF International supports the legal defense of these parents to hold both the school and the Austrian authorities accountable for violating their parental rights.

“ADF International is committed to supporting these parents in defending their basic human rights. The school must be held accountable for its duty to protect parents’ rights to oversee their children’s education. The same applies to the duty of the Austrian authorities to respect the country’s obligations under international law with regard to parents’ rights,” Böllmann summarizes.
