Charleston police search for vehicle that struck woman in downtown parking lot

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – Charleton Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian in critical condition overnight.

At around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers were called to the parking lot of the Rutledge Cab Company restaurant at 1300 Rutledge Ave. after a woman was struck by a car.

According to police, the woman was hit by a vehicle that was trying to enter the parking lot. Witnesses reported seeing a burgundy vehicle fleeing the scene of the accident.

The woman was taken to MUSC, where her condition remains critical.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
