Parliament session interrupted due to brief power outage

Monday’s parliamentary session was adjourned after a brief power outage in the building.

During Parliament’s Question Time, there was a power outage in the building, causing Speaker Anglu Farrugia to adjourn the session.

While the session was suspended, MPs with microphones on could be heard saying that the power outage would disrupt their speech. One MP even joked about “the generator”.

About 15 minutes later, power was restored.

Enemalta’s blackout map showed no planned or ongoing power outages in the area and it remains unclear whether the blackout affected only the building or other parts of Valletta as well.
