Alaska man dies when he is hit by a car while cycling in Westminster

An Alaska man was killed in Westminster on Friday when he was hit by a car while riding his bike.

According to Westminster police, the accident occurred around 5 a.m. near the intersection of 20th Street and Beach Boulevard.

They say he was hit by a Lincoln Towncar while driving on the roadway.

Paramedics from the Orange County Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been established.

The driver remained at the scene of the accident and called 911. Investigators believe that neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the accident.
