Man arrested for sexual relationship with teenager pleads guilty, gets 8 years in prison | Local & State

UPDATE (20.06.24):

Erwin Lopez-Juarez, a man arrested for sexually abusing a 13-year-old, was sentenced to eight years in prison on Thursday.

The Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office said Lopez-Juarez pleaded guilty and was sentenced to eight years in prison, followed by eight years probation.

Lopez-Juarez was arrested in January after police said he had sexual relations with a 13-year-old girl.

The victim told police that she and Lopez-Juarez had sex at least twice and believed they were in a relationship. Lopez-Juarez told police that the two had a loving relationship and that he had done nothing wrong. He even pleaded with police to allow the relationship to continue.


Tulsa police have arrested a man who they say had sexual relations with a 13-year-old girl.



TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa police have arrested a man who allegedly had sexual relations with a 13-year-old girl.

On January 5, the Tulsa Police Department Child Crisis Unit received a report of the sexual abuse of a young girl.

The victim said she had sex with her 32-year-old cousin, Erwin Lopez-Juarez.

On January 14, police arrested Lopez-Juarez at his home. After questioning, the suspect admitted to having sex with the victim at least six times. He also told police that he and the teenager had been in a relationship since August of last year.

Lopez-Juarez said he was in love with the victim and believed they could continue their relationship because they had done nothing wrong, police said.

Lopez-Juarez was arrested for first-degree rape.
