Warsaw man killed in Benton County crash

A Warsaw man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Benton County Friday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2017 Ford Fusion driven by 90-year-old Homer D. May of Warsaw was traveling on US 65 and Route BB at approximately 4:20 p.m. when the Ford veered into the path of a northbound 2006 Pontiac G6 driven by 18-year-old Sarah J. Gilbert of Warsaw.

May was flown by Lifeflight to Bothwell Regional Health Center and was later pronounced dead by Dr. Trevor Beckham at 6:36 p.m.

This was Troop A’s 35th fatal accident in 2024 and the 38th fatality this year.
