Pickens County woman dies after drowning incident, coroner says

An Upstate woman died in a drowning accident at her home in Pickens County, South Carolina, on Sunday evening, the coroner’s office said. Deputy Coroner Tommy Page said the coroner’s office was called to a home on Armstrong Drive in Marietta shortly before 6:30 p.m. for a possible drowning accident. Lisa Marie Blue, 34, was treated at the scene but was pronounced dead at the accident site, Page said. He said the cause and manner of death are still under investigation and an autopsy will be performed. The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office and the coroner’s office are investigating the death.

SLATER-MARIETTA, SC —

According to the coroner’s office, an Upstate woman died Sunday evening as a result of a drowning accident in her home in Pickens County, South Carolina.

Deputy Coroner Tommy Page said the coroner’s office was called to a home on Armstrong Drive in Marietta shortly before 6:30 p.m. for a possible drowning.

Lisa Marie Blue, 34, was treated at the scene but was pronounced dead at the scene, Page said.

He said the cause and manner of death were still under investigation and an autopsy would be performed.

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office are investigating the death.
