Woman killed in hit-and-run in Tuscaloosa identified

Tuscaloosa police are trying to find a driver who killed a woman in a hit-and-run crash Thursday night. According to police, it happened around 9:30 p.m. on Englewood Village Drive, where the woman, 58-year-old Patricia Ann Brooks, was walking. Another driver saw Brooks lying in the road and called 911. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene after attempting life-saving measures. Tuscaloosa police are trying to find a driver who killed a woman in a hit-and-run crash Thursday night.

According to police, it happened around 9:30 p.m. on Englewood Village Drive, where 58-year-old Patricia Ann Brooks was walking.

Another driver saw Brooks lying on the road and called 911.

After attempts to take life-saving measures, paramedics declared her dead on the spot.

Officers determined she lived nearby, and family members said she suffered from a medical condition that may have caused her to collapse while walking before she was struck by the vehicle.

TPD’s Traffic Homicide Unit is working to locate the driver of the vehicle that drove away from the scene of the accident.
