Criminal investigation is underway against the swimming pool company Hernando

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – West Hernando Pools and Spas, the subject of an ongoing Better Call Behnken investigation, is currently under a criminal investigation, according to the Hernando Sheriff’s Office.

A sheriff’s office spokesman said he could not comment on ongoing investigations and therefore did not elaborate.

Customers of West Hernando Pools and Spas have been complaining to Better Call Behnken for months. Earlier this year, Hernando building officials revoked the permitting rights of the pool company and its owner, Frank Bierwiler.

At the time, Bierwiler had 118 unfinished pools. He recently said he had reduced that number to 77.

Bierwiler’s attorney, Darryl Johnson, declined to comment on the criminal investigation.

Special Agent Kenneth Warnstadt ruled that all seven projects with dangerous holes must be completed before Bierwiler can obtain further permits.
