Russian airstrike hits school stadium in Ukraine, 4 children injured

Russia denies targeting civilians, but many have been killed and injured in its attacks.

A Russian airstrike hit a school stadium in Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv on Wednesday, wounding at least four children and three adults, officials said.

Two teenagers were hospitalized in serious condition, regional governor Oleh Synehubov said on messenger Telegram.

The Attorney General’s Office added that the attack caused damage to the school and surrounding residential buildings.

Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, and the surrounding region have long been the target of Russian attacks, but attacks have increased in recent months, hitting civilian and energy infrastructure.
