Luverne man arrested after minor found shot multiple times in vehicle | WDHN

BRANTLEY, Alabama (WDHN) – The Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office announced late last night that it had arrested 20-year-old Shawn Garner of Luverne in connection with the multiple gunshot wound to a minor. Air transport to Montgomery was necessary to save the child’s life.

On June 12 at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers from the Brantley Police Department and Crenshaw Authorities responded to a 911 call of a gunshot victim.


Police discovered the victim in a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. Brantley Rescue immediately provided medical assistance and transported her by helicopter to a hospital in Montgomery. There is currently no news on her condition.

Garner was arrested a short time later by a Brantley police officer and charged with attempted murder, first degree burglary, and prohibition against certain persons from possessing a firearm.

Garner was taken to the Crenshaw County Detention Center.
