State police investigate after malnourished puppy found abandoned on Blue Hills Reservation – Boston 25 News

MILTON, Massachusetts – Massachusetts State Police are trying to locate the owner of a malnourished dog found abandoned on the Blue Hills Reservation Monday morning.

A Good Samaritan dropped off the female pit bull mix puppy at the state police barracks in Milton, law enforcement said.

“The Good Samaritan saw the dog near the road in the Blue Hills Reservation and stopped. When they opened the door of their car, the dog jumped in,” state police said in a Facebook post.

State police noted that the puppy has some basic obedience training and knows the commands “sit” and “come.” They also said the puppy appeared to be malnourished and “starved for attention.”

The officers bought food for the puppy and entertained him before Milton Animal Control picked him up.

State police said it was unclear how long the puppy was left alone.

Anyone who recognizes the puppy is asked to contact Milton Animal Control at 617-698-0455.
