Tops and the union conclude a second contract in principle after the rejection of the first

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — There is talk of another tentative agreement between Tops Markets and Teamsters Local 264.

A Tops spokesperson said Sunday’s negotiations resulted in a four-year contract agreement that Tops said contains strong, industry-leading compensation and benefits.

The union base rejected the initial four-year agreement in principle reached on Friday.

Strikers and their supporters were back on the picket line Sunday at the Tops distribution center on Genesee Street in Lancaster.

Nearly 600 truck drivers and warehouse workers are on strike for new hires and higher wages.

A new vote on the latest contract in principle is expected to take place on Monday.
