Dispute over Woodward Reservoir stems from a parking enforcement problem

Sergeant Luke Schwartz, spokesman for the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office, said the incident occurred Sunday evening in the Office Point area.

He said a crowd formed and became unruly while officers were conducting parking enforcement. Schwartz said the crowd grew to about 75 people and that at one point their aggression was directed at officers.

Details of the incident have not been released, but officials said alcohol played a role. Officials said everyone was fine after the incident.

Eventually the matter was resolved and some people were taken into custody. It is currently unclear how many people are in custody or why they were taken into custody.
