Police: 4 people hospitalized after shooting in southeast DC

Police in Washington, DC, are investigating a shooting that left four people injured near Boone Elementary School in Southeast Washington on Sunday evening.

Police in Washington, DC, are investigating a shooting that left four people injured near Boone Elementary School in Southeast Washington on Sunday evening.

Police told WTOP that officers responded to a reported shooting in the 2200 block of Minnesota Avenue, southeast, shortly after 6 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found two adult men with gunshot wounds, police said. Both were conscious and breathing when paramedics took them to area hospitals.

According to police, two other victims, an adult man and a young woman, were found in area hospitals where they were treated for gunshot wounds.

In addition, an officer responding to the shooting was involved in an accident and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are currently searching for a dark colored Hyundai that was spotted near the crime scene. The department is asking anyone with information to contact them at the tip line 202-727-9099.
