Woman killed in SUV crash in Morgan County

MORGAN COUNTY, Missouri – The passenger of a UTV was killed and the driver was injured in a fatal crash at an off-road park in Morgan County Friday evening, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The MSHP accident report states that at 6:15 p.m., 37-year-old Jacob Dye and 36-year-old Shawna Dye of Albany, Missouri, were driving a 2023 Polaris RZR up a hill at “The Loop” Lake Ozark Offroad Park when the vehicle lost traction and rolled down the hill, ejecting both occupants from the vehicle.

A paramedic on scene pronounced Shawna Dye dead at 7:08 p.m. Jacob Dye was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach with moderate injuries.

MSHP reports that next of kin have been notified of Shawna Dye’s death.

This is the 17th fatality for MSHP Troop F in 2024 and the second fatality in June.
