Party on the Portico announces its programming for 2024! Live music, history and more at the Buffalo History Museum

THE Party on the portico The Summer Concert Series is set to return to the Buffalo History Museum this summer! The evening brings together some of the best bands at the museum and will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on M&T’s Third Fridays: June 21, July 19, and August 16.

For over a decade, Party on the portico was a popular summer celebration held on the museum’s iconic portico, which offers breathtaking views of Delaware Park and Mirror Lake. “Party on the portico is a quintessential Buffalo summer experience,” said Brian Hayden, the museum’s director of communications and community engagement. “Our back portico, which we like to call Buffalo’s favorite back porch, offers one of the best views in the city and is the perfect backdrop for a concert. Add to that live music by local bands selected by Music is Art, cold drinks and access to our museum exhibits, and you have the makings of a perfect summer evening on the town with friends.

Since its founding in 1862, the Buffalo History Museum has been Western New York’s premier historical organization. “Our museum strives to preserve and share the stories of Buffalo and Western New York,” Hayden said. “We present our past through interactive exhibits, create dynamic programming that educates and inspires visitors of all ages, and care for a collection of hundreds of thousands of two- and three-dimensional artifacts that bring history to life of our region. Buffalo is an extraordinarily historic city, and we love collaborating with the community and cultivating an appreciation of that history.

Those who participate Party on the portico Guests can listen to live music, explore museum exhibits, and enjoy a cash bar and free snacks. This year’s concert line-up is supported by Music is Art, promising an exciting mix of performances.

The 2024 concert schedule is as follows:

June 21: PA Line with Stephen Babcock
July 19: Damone Jackson Outcome with Diyené
August 16: Miller and the Other Sinners with Michael DeLano

“We want guests to be able to create some of their favorite summer 2024 memories at Party on the portico. The backdrop is unbeatable and the perfect place to unwind after a long week of work,” said Hayden, adding: “The event is also a great introduction to our museum, providing the opportunity to wander through through our exhibitions and learn all kinds of things. facts about Buffalo history that you’ll be talking about for weeks. There is simply no other event like this in Buffalo, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome guests back for another season of great concerts.

Party on the portico is an event exclusively for guests aged 21 and over, and it will take place rain or shine. Tickets are $15 for the general public and $10 for museum members if purchased in advance. On the day of the event, ticket prices will increase by $5. Tickets can be purchased online at the museum’s website.
