Kangana Ranaut expressed her support for Raveena Tandon a day after she was attacked on a Mumbai street. In her Instagram stories on Monday, Kangana termed the incident “absolutely alarming”. Kangana Ranaut wrote, “What happened to Raveena Tandon ji is absolutely alarming. Had there been 5 or 6 more people from the opposing group, she would have been lynched. We condemn such road rage. These people must be reprimanded. They must not be allowed to get away with such violent and malicious behaviour.”

What the Mumbai police said

News agency PTI, citing a Mumbai Police official, reported that during the course of their investigation, the police found that Raveena’s car did not collide with anyone. In a video on a social media platform, a man had claimed that Raveena’s driver hit his mother. He added that Raveena started attacking her when he was questioned. He also claimed that the incident took place when he was walking with his mother, sister and niece near the actor’s house.

According to the police officer, video footage from the area around the building where the incident took place showed that women were in close proximity to the actor’s car but were not hit. The video showed a group accusing Raveena and her driver of attacking three women.

What happened to Raveena in Bandra?

The incident took place on Carter Road in Bandra on Saturday evening, police said. While no FIR has been registered, a station book entry has been made at Khar police station, the official added.

After Raveena got out of her car to address the crowd, she was allegedly pushed and punched, he said. In the video, the man claimed that the actress was drunk and started attacking the woman after she got out of the car.

Following the incident, a group of people confronted Raveena and her driver on the premises of a building on Carter Road. The incident occurred after the driver reversed his car, the official said. The viral video shows a woman complaining that Raveena and her driver assaulted her and caused her nose bleed.

In view of the altercation, both the parties visited Khar police station and submitted written statements claiming that they have no allegations against each other, the official said.
