One dead after crash on Highway 99 near Turlock

A 26-year-old man died in a crash on Highway 99 near Turlock on Tuesday, the California Highway Patrol said. Officials said a collision between two vehicles was reported around 9:40 a.m. on the southbound highway. The CHP said the 26-year-old man was killed in a crash on Highway 99 near Turlock on Tuesday. The 16-year-old was driving at a high rate of speed when he attempted to overtake another vehicle on the left side and crashed into the vehicle. Police said the impact caused the man’s car to cross all lanes and onto the shoulder, where the car rolled several times. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car, officials said. According to CHP, the person in the other vehicle was not injured in the accident. Police said the man was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. Officials don’t know if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. According to the CHP, the 26-year-old was traveling at a high rate of speed when he attempted to pass another vehicle on the left side and crashed into it.

Police said the impact caused the man’s car to cross all lanes and onto the shoulder, where the car rolled several times.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car, officials said.

The person in the other vehicle was not injured in the crash, according to CHP.

According to police, the man was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Officials don’t know if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.
