Felon convicted of gun and coke possession

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man arrested in 2022 has faced new criminal possession charges, according to Buffalo Police.

On May 24, 2024, a search was conducted by the Buffalo Police Department SWAT Team and the Buffalo Police Intelligence Unit at an address on E. Delavan Avenue. In April 2022, Michael Thomas, 47, was arrested for criminal possession at the same address.


Two guns, ammunition, approximately 224 grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia were recovered Friday, police said.

Thomas was charged with:

  • first degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree
  • criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree
  • second degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia
  • seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance

In 2022, Thomas was charged with five counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
