14-year-old girl arrested for murder in Southern California

Los Angeles police announced Tuesday that a 14-year-old girl has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman in March in the Vermont-Slauson area of ​​South Los Angeles.

The girl, whose identity has not been released, is accused of shooting Kendra McIntyre around 4:20 a.m. March 21 as McIntyre walked near the corner of 70th and Figueroa streets, police said in a news release .


McIntyre died from her injuries at a local hospital.

Investigators identified the teenager as the shooter, but police would not elaborate on how or why they suspected the girl.

She was arrested on Monday and on Tuesday the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office filed murder charges against her.
