The Botanical Gardens deploy a new image before their expansion

The next time you visit the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, things will be even more colorful than usual.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The next time you visit the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, things will be even more colorful than usual.

“Here at the Botanical Gardens, we live the brand every day,” President and CEO Mark Mortensen said Tuesday morning, wearing a brightly colored shirt emblazoned with the organization’s new logo. “My shirt is actually an homage to our brand. It’s the wallpaper representing all the different elements of our new brand, which is really much more colorful and vibrant and exciting.”

The gift shop is full of new products, new signage in the gardens will be available soon and a major expansion is also underway.

“We’re proposing a design that really embraces the historic elements of the property, but also adds better accessibility to our community, because right now there’s a long walk to our main entrance,” he said. -he declares. “This new addition to the building will make the connection to the parking lot much easier and will make it much easier for visitors to access the interior of the building.”

The work is expected to begin next spring and be completed in 2027. The gardens will remain open throughout the duration of the work.

“We are looking to modify all of our living museum spaces to really highlight and highlight the fascinating and unique living collection that we have,” Mortenson said. “So you’ll see changes happening inside as we’re building, so there will be in addition to this brand that I’m wearing today, there will be constant evolution leading up to this grand opening from 2027″

In the meantime, many floral exhibitions and shows are on offer in the gardens, including Floral Spectra, which opens on June 1 and celebrates the color of plants.
