NBA investigates incident during Nuggets vs. Timberwolves Game 2

The Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves faced off in a second game that absolutely no one expected. The Timberwolves completely dismantled the defending champions and led by up to 32 points. It was such an unexpected moment that it caused some controversy.

In the second quarter, when it was a 27-point game, Jamal Murray threw a heat pack onto the field out of frustration with the referee. The most concerning thing is that the heat pack reached the entire place and could have actually hurt someone. Luckily, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope caught it before anyone could get hurt.

Once the moment came, many called for Jamal Murray to be suspended over the incident. It turns out that the NBA is actually investigating the incident.

Jamal Murray, who threw a heat pack during Game 2, will officially be reviewed by the league and suspended ahead of Game 3 on Friday, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

It remains to be seen whether Jamal Murray will actually be suspended for his actions, but if another player with a good reputation overturned the suspension, it would definitely be a suspension. If Jamal Murray is suspended, it would be devastating for the Denver Nuggets. As it stands, things aren’t looking great for the Nuggets heading into Game 3, but without Jamal Murray it would be disastrous.

Game 3 between the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves takes place on Friday at 9:30 p.m. EST.
