The Buffalo City Council, at its regular meeting Tuesday evening, passed on first reading its annual appropriations bill, or budget, for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

Mayor Shane Schrader read Ordinance No. 1417 before asking for a motion to accept the budget on first reading.

The ordinance approved an operating budget of approximately $17.6 million.

For comparison, the city adopted a $12.7 million budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, a $13 million appropriations bill for the 2021-2022 fiscal year and a budget approximately $13 million for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.
