Significant traffic delays caused by semi-unfortunate Idylwyld overpass

According to Saskatoon police, traffic restrictions are still in effect in the area where a semi-trailer truck is on its side on the overpass at Idylwyld Drive and 51st Street.

Saskatoon Police said the accident was a single vehicle and that restrictions are in place on Avenue C North from 45th Street northbound and 51st Street, with no access to the overpass. However, there is no forecast as to when the restrictions will be lifted. Drivers are advised to take an alternate route and leave early to avoid delays.

Firefighters responded to the scene around 7:10 a.m. this morning (Wednesday). Firefighters discovered the truck and double trailer lying on its side and the load, which was lumber, had fallen onto the road. Crews contained a diesel leak and no injuries were reported. Saskatoon Police continue to investigate the accident.
