The SADC Drivers Association has warned of retaliation if foreign truck drivers are attacked during the planned nationwide shutdown in South Africa.

The All Truck Drivers Forum and Allied South Africa (ATDF-ASA) plan to launch a nationwide lockdown on Monday, which is expected to affect key transport routes, including the N3 between Durban and Johannesburg, which will be the epicenter of the lockdown.

The ATDF-ASA said the closure was aimed at preventing truck driving jobs from being “taken away from foreigners”.
